Hari Raya Aidilfitri
Raya is open house season, and a vase arrangement for the host’s living room or dining table is the gift that is still there when the next guests arrive. Choose soft greens, whites and gold tones that sit well with baju Raya colours and the house’s new décor, or a deeper arrangement in emerald and ivory. Order at least a week before the first day of Raya: couriers close for the holidays and are busiest in the days before.
Chinese New Year
Red and gold are the colours of the season, and red roses or a red and peach arrangement for the reunion dinner table is always welcome. Peonies are a symbol of prosperity and suit a CNY arrangement well; avoid white-only arrangements, which are associated with mourning. Forever flowers have a practical edge at CNY: they last the fifteen days of visiting without a single drooping petal. Order ten days early – courier cut-offs before CNY come sooner than people expect.
Deepavali
Marigold orange, saffron yellow and deep pink are the Deepavali palette. A bright arrangement for the entrance or the prayer-room shelf matches the kolam and the oil lamps. For a gift to the home, a warm-toned vase piece such as Golden Hour; for a gift to a person, a hand-tied bouquet in warm tones.
Mother’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries
For a mother, a bouquet she can keep on her dresser: blush peonies (Soft Moments) or a soft mixed bouquet with a card in your own words. For a birthday, go by the person’s favourite colour; for an anniversary, red roses remain the classic, and a dozen forever roses are still there on the next anniversary. The Gifts by occasion pages group the arrangements.
Housewarming
The most useful housewarming gift is one the new home can use at once. A vase arrangement sized for a console or dining table – ask what the room looks like, or send a white and green piece that suits any room – is unpacked and placed that very afternoon. See housewarming arrangements.
When to order
Add preparation (1–2 working days) to the courier’s time (1–3 working days within Peninsular Malaysia, 5–8 to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, 3–7 to Singapore), then add a few days for the festive rush. Tell us the date you want when you order and we plan around it. Full terms are on the Delivery & Collection page.
